On June 24, 2023, the Smithsonian marks the first Saturday of summer—Solstice Saturday—by staying open late and hosting programs and performances throughout the day and night.

All museums on the National Mall will have extended hours, with three museums staying open until midnight. An information center will be open in the Arts and Industries Building from 5:30–10 p.m. View participating museums and details below.

Solstice Saturday is held in association with Hofstra University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. Hofstra University’s Astronomy Festival on the National Mall takes place Saturday, June 24, 6–11 p.m., across from the National Air and Space Museum.
