- Summary
- "To expand the text of Obsequens, Lycosthenes drew upon numerous classical sources, especially the works of Livy and Eutropius. The Aldine text begins in year 564 from the founding of Rome (188 BCE), while that of Lycosthenes begins at Roman year 14 (737 BCE). Both versions end in Roman year 743 (9 BCE). (The Roman dates of Lycosthenes differ slightly from those assigned by modern historians). Lycosthenes further enhanced this volume by reprinting works on prodigies and portents by Polydore Vergil and Joachim Camerarius.--Beckwith, J. Bruce. Bibliotheca Beckwithiana (unpublished)
