- * According to Tobias G. Natter (Oskar Kokoschka: Das Moderne Bildnis, 1909 bis 1914, Neue Galerie and HamburgerKunsthalle, 2002, p. 244), the sitter, Albrecht Harta may have been the first owner. Natter claims the painting was sold through the Viennese art dealer Richard Lanyi (according to Westheim, 1917, page 319).
