From card: "Late Ptolemaic to Early Roman Period (200 B.C. - 200 A.D.) Some cartonnage left on forehead and has a loop under the neck in blue, gold and white. C14 date based on linen wrappings: Age 2050 plus or minus 200 yrs. (B.P.) Cf. USGS lab no W-780, 6/11/1959. Exhibit, Hall 26, 1976." 1978 NMNH slide set caption: Bull Mummy. disarticulated bones wrapped with linen, cartonage around head, Egyptian, Dashur, Ptolemaic, ca. 2050 B.P. Hall 26 exhibit label notes that the bull mummy is shaped correctly but actually contains disarticulated bones filled out with cloth stuffing.
