- This is part of collection of software and other materials assembled over the years by Smithsonian curator Jon Eklund. The outside of the videocassette is black plastic case which in turn is in a white cardboard box. A white label on the edge of the case reads in part: Microsoft Windows NT TODAY: INSIDE REPORT. It also reads: Part No. 36271 (/) 1992 Microsoft Inc. The presentation is quite early - the Windows NT operating system would not be officially released by Microsoft until 1993.
