35mm microfilm reels 2942 through 2951 available at Archives of American Art offices and through interlibrary loan.
Existence and Location of Originals
Originals returned to lender, Blanche Peters (Mrs. Carl), after microfilming. 82 sketchbooks subsequently donated in 2002.
Scope and Contents
Resumes; biographical material; correspondence, mainly with galleries; notebooks with notes, diagrams, calendar entries, names and addresses, and pencil sketches; several loose sketches; 115 sketchbooks, mostly done in pencil or charcoal; annotated working plans for murals, some washed with watercolor; scrapbooks containing clippings, letters, exhibition catalogs, photographs, and certficates; a guest book; financial material; photographs of Peters' paintings; exhibition catalogs, announcements, and invitations; and miscellaneous materials.
Restrictions
Use of original papers requires an appointment and is limited to the Archives' Washington, D.C., Research Center. Microfilmed materials must be consulted on microfilm.
