- Gael Hammer is the grand-niece of painter Miles Evergood (neƩ Blashki). She lives in New South Wales, Australia. Philip Evergood, Miles' son, was a leading realist painter in the U.S. The family is of Polish-Australian descent, and changed the last name from Blashki to Evergood when they came to the U.S..
