Provenance
Donated 1972 by Virginia Myers Downes, whose father, Jerome Myers, was a friend of Dolinsky. Many of Dolinsky's papers were lost in a fire which destroyed his home. Photos received with the papers were placed in Photographs of Artists Collection I and microfilmed on reel 439 in 1973. Printed material transferred to NMAA/PG Library after microfilming.

Painter and teacher; New York, N.Y. Born in Russia. Came to U.S. with his family at the age of three. Studied at the Educational Alliance, the National Academy of Design, and the Art Students League. Exhibited at the Armory Show, 1913. Taught at Cooper Union.

Scope and Contents
3 untranscribed cassettes of Dolinsky's recollections of his art career. Present on the tape are Barry Downes, interviewer; Blossom Dolinsky, Dolinsky's wife; and Virginia Downes, Barry's mother. The microfilm contains notes for the interview; 5 clippings; and an exhibition announcement.
Restrictions
Microfilmed portion must be consulted on microfilm. Use of untranscribed tapes requires an appointment.
