- The two volumes of letters sent, June 1867–June 1868, 1 (258) and 2 (259), are arranged chronologically and have name indexes. The index in volume 2 (259) is to the page on which the letter is copied. For the name index to the number of the letter, see the name index (260) mentioned above. Some of the letters January–March 1868 in volume 1 (258) appear to be duplicated in volume 2 (259).
