- Scope and Contents note
- Charles Lang Freer Correspondence, 1876, 1886-1920. Handwritten and typed incoming letters, arranged by correspondent. From 1908, copies of outgoing letters were also included in these folders. Includes correspondence with over 500 individuals and institutions. Internal evidence suggests that Freer may have retained such an arrangement, and he often annotated the top left corner of incoming letters with the date answered. Many letters following Freer's death were answered by Katharine Nash Rhoades.
