The longest, The Chemin de Fer Kinshasa-Dilolo-Lubumbashi (KDL), connects the mining area of southern Shaba Region (now Katanga) to the port of Ilebo on the Kasai River and ultimately to Kinshasa by the Kasai and Zaire River." This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon traveled to Africa from March 17, 1970 to July 17,1970.
