- Scope and Contents
- This series contains photographs, oral history interviews, cookbooks, artwork, recipes, flyer, and a dvd documenting recipes developed, compiled, transcribed or commemorated by Asian American home cooks. Materials were created or acquired in 2021. The contributors are not formally trained, meaning that they did not attend traditional culinary schools, but learned from their elders and others in their families and communities, or taught themselves by researching historic and/or traditional recipes. An important theme that emerges is the sharing of food traditions across generations. Their recipes and foodways are preserved in community cookbooks, blogs, interviews and comic strips.
