- Biographical / Historical
- Tae-gu Kimchi produces kimchi (traditional Korean fermented vegetables) for local area markets. Chef Patrice Cunningham uses her mother's kimchi recipe and hopes to grow the business to sell her product through mainline supermarkets like Safeway, Giant, and Whole Foods. She launched the company in the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC, in 2020. Small scale producers like Patrice are an important part of the Asian American food system, producing and preserving traditional recipes, or developing different takes on traditional recipes for new audiences.
