Tyrconnell
Object Details
- General
- Tyrconnell Estate has a noteworthy garden and was originally owned by the O'Donnell family. The Georgian style house overlooks Roland Lake from the west terrace. A grand area of lawn is bordered by old oak and tulip trees. A square garden of English boxwood and flowering trees exists in the north part of the garden. The vista is Italianate and the steps of the pool and fountains are surrounded by rhododendrons, mountain laurel and azaleas. A formal garden terraces down to a woodland of naturalized drifts of daffodils and wildflowers.
