Varying Form: Van Doren Garden.
General: Gayway, possibly in Morristown, New Jersey, is located on three acres. In addition to a 200-year old farmhouse and small barn/garage the site featured extensive iris and perennial borders, herb garden, an outdoor fireplace, and a large vegetable garden as well as outdoor seating areas. The exact location of the property is not known.; An excellent article by former owner Ruth Van Doren describes the use and planting of the garden between 1948 and 1963.
