- Scope and Contents
- This series contains general biographical materials such as CVs; extensive address books and business cards collected from Scanga's colleagues, friends, institutions, and artists, throughout his long career; and phone message books. Military records from his service with the Tactical Command of the United States Forces in Austria in the early-1950s and later with the Army Reserve Unit of Michigan in the mid-1950s include a pamphlet instructing good behavior, border crossing cards, and other ephemera. Scattered writings by Scanga include a work entitled "Pier Luigi Nervi." Works about Scanga are written by Ernest Silva and John Yau. Artworks are unsigned and include doodles and sketches. Scattered personal business records consist of a will, an agreement for a movie production, and business agreements with Scanga's son, Joe Scanga. Photographs depict Scanga, his family, friends, and students, and fellow artists.
