- Scope and Contents
- John Weber first worked with earthworks artist Robert Smithson at the Dwan Gallery, initially in Los Angeles and then as director of Dwan's New York location. After Dwan Gallery closed in 1971, Weber opened the John Weber Gallery, and continued his association with Smithson. The gallery operated in various locations in Soho and Chelsea until it closed in 2000. This series houses the gallery's inventory and slide records of Robert Smithson's drawings and sculptures, including earthworks, and incorpoates some slides from the James Cohan Gallery. Additional records relating to John Weber Gallery's relationship with Holt and Smithson can be found in Series 10.
