- Educational Notes
- Before he was the topic of a hit Broadway musical, Alexander Hamilton was one of the youngest Founders of the US Constitution! His life was full of many other accomplishments, too. He learned French, was an excellent writer, and earned his bachelors degree in one years time! During the American Revolution, he served in the military and received praise for his military tactics, which lead to General George Washington making Hamilton his personal secretary! He went on to become the first ever U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and founded the Federalist Party, which was based on the belief that the central government needed to be strong in order for the country to survive. His most famous opponent on this view was Thomas Jefferson who became a member of the Anti-Federalist Party. In 1804, Hamilton was killed in a famous duel with his longtime nemesis, Aaron Burr.
