Smithsonian Holiday Festival

The Smithsonian will host a free, two-day festival, Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, at the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of American History (museums to open at 9:30 a.m. both days) and Smithsonian Castle (open at 8:30 a.m.). The festival will include exclusive concerts by the U.S. Air Force’s Max Impact, Singing Sergeants and Silver Wings, seasonal films (Santa vs. the Snowman 3D [30 minutes] and The Polar Express 3D, a special 12-minute 3-D experience), puppet demonstrations, trunk shows, origami-ornament making, book signings, food and hours of additional family-friendly entertainment. In addition, there will be gift-wrapping tables at the National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of American History. Complimentary gift wrapping for purchases made at Smithsonian museum stores will be offered.

The Smithsonian Holiday Shuttle will be looping the mall approximately every 10 minutes. The shuttle is sponsored by Smithsonian Channel and will make stops at the Smithsonian Castle, National Air and Space Museum, National Museum of the American Indian, National Museum of Natural History and National Museum of American History.
