Distinguished Benefactors Room

The Smithsonian’s most generous donors, Distinguished Benefactors are individual donors whose gifts total $1 million or more, and foundations and corporations that have made one-time gifts of the same amount. The Smithsonian honors these donors by prominently recognizing them in the Distinguished Benefactors Room in the Smithsonian Castle.

While the Castle is closed beginning February 1 for its first major renovation in more than 50 years, we invite you to view a photo slideshow of the Distinguished Benefactors Room.

The contributions of Distinguished Benefactors have helped make the Smithsonian the remarkable institution it is today. In addition to being recognized in the Castle, Distinguished Benefactors are honored in the Smithsonian’s Annual Report. Below you will find the section of the FY2022 Annual Report recognizing these esteemed donors.
