HGTV’s Don Hirsh Shares Home Makeover Secrets at Smithsonian Associates Event
The Smithsonian Associates presents “Home Makeover Magic with HGTV’s Don Hirsh” Thursday, Aug. 7, at 6:45 p.m. at the Smithsonian’s S. Dillon Ripley Center at 1100 Jefferson Dr. S.W. For those looking for ideas on how to make the most of their home’s appearance inside and out, Don Hirsh, a former designer on HGTV’s popular Curb Appeal, will help get them started, from developing a concept to keeping to your budget.
Sharing before-and-after photos, Hirsh will walk participants through some of the easy and dramatic ways he has transformed clients’ lackluster homes with spectacular makeovers. He will explain how a new paint color can dramatically improve the appearance of your home and how accenting architectural elements can add character.
Hirsch has worked as a designer for more than 25 years, with a focus on commercial interiors and residential interiors and exteriors. He has been seen on HGTV’s I Want That as a guest designer, on 11 episodes of Curb Appeal and has been the featured speaker at the Washington Home Show. “It’s your space, love where you live,” is his design philosophy.
Tickets are $35 for general admission and $25 for Smithsonian Associates’ members. For tickets the public may call (202) 633-3030 or visit www.smithsonianassociates.org.
