Group Sales Packages

The Smithsonian offers groups discounted packages to restaurants, IMAX theaters, the planetarium, paid exhibitions and attractions within our museums.

Group Menus
Group menus are available at restaurants in the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of the American Indian, American Art and Portrait Gallery and at McDonald’s restaurants in the National Air and Space Museum and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. All restaurants have general seating, no reserved seating.

Food Vouchers
The Smithsonian now offers $10 & $15 food vouchers, redeemable at the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, National Museum of the American Indian, American Art and Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian Castle. Vouchers are good for the full face value against any food item and include a fountain beverage or bottled water. Minimum order of 10 or more, no reserved seating. All vouchers expire 9/29/2012. McDonald’s restaurants in the National Air and Space Museum and the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Set menus are available for groups of 10 or more ordering in advance, with one complimentary meal per 20 purchased (excludes bulk vouchers purchases).

Dinner at the Smithsonian
Wind down from a day of exploration at one of our popular museum restaurants. Available from 3pm–6pm, Dinner at the Smithsonian offers a variety of menus – from all-American burgers to the famed Native American fare at the National Museum of the American Indian. Minimum of 100 people, 40 person minimum during extended Summer hours. No reserved seating. All meals include a fountain beverage or bottled water.

Groups of 10 or more receive 30% off admission to our IMAX Theaters and Einstein Planetarium, with one complimentary ticket for every 20 purchased (excludes bulk vouchers). General admission, no reserved seating.

Bulk IMAX Tickets
Groups of 10 or more can purchase bulk, prepaid tickets good for any daytime educational show at any one of our three IMAX theaters and planetarium. All vouchers expire 9/29/2012.

IMAX on Demand
Arrange a special morning screening with our IMAX on Demand package. Choose from any of the films in our IMAX and Planetarium Adventure Library, and screen the film before the museum doors open to the public. IMAX and Planetarium On Demand screenings are offered for groups of 20 or more (40 for Title 1 schools) every morning around 9:15 am (start times vary based on location). Minimum one-week notice is required to book dates and choice of films are subject to availability.

Fly jet-age combat sorties, perform 360-degree barrel rolls and engage in air-to-air combat for a hands-on experience thousands of feet above ground. Groups of 10 or more receive $1 off ticket prices, with one complimentary ticket per 20 purchased.

Butterfly + Plants: Partners in Evolution

Stroll among live butterflies and exotic plants! This tropical oasis offers visitors a rare opportunity to get close to living butterflies from all over the world. Tickets are timed-entry at 15-minute intervals, 40 tickets per timeslot. Groups of 10 or more receive 30% off ticket prices and one complimentary ticket per 20 purchased.
