The Smithsonian's three IMAX^® theaters have the largest screens in the Washington, D.C. region and measure up to six stories tall! Our giant-screen films offer an immersive experience that complements the museum exhibits. Hollywood films are also offered at select theaters in the evening.

The Planetarium's 77-foot digital dome is the only full-dome cinema in DC. Audiences can journey through time and space to view some of the most extraordinary images not viewable to the naked eye.
