The El Monte sweatshop raid was conducted by a multi-agency task force including agents from the California Labor Commissioner's office, the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division (DOL), the Los Angeles and El Monte police, the Los Angeles city attorney's office, California's Employment Development Division, and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Many of the law enforcement agencies took photographs or videos during the raid and in the weeks afterwards. The NMAH collection includes photographs from the California Department of Industrial Relations, INS, and DOL.
