- Description
- The History Film Forum is the premier film festival focused on history in the United States. A four-day exploration of history on the screen, the Forum brings together the nation’s top filmmakers, film watchers, and scholars in conversation to examine the state of both narrative and documentary history film as vehicles for teaching and interpreting history. From the big screen to the computer screen, the 2017 History Film Forum will examine themes of diversity and access in history filmmaking and ask: how does what we watch shape what we know? A collaboration of the Smithsonian Institution and the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Forum is unique in its connection of audiences, historians, filmmakers, journalists, and policy leaders at our National Museum.
