- Description
- Suni Paz is an Argentinian performer, writer, and folklorist who uses music to connect and educate people about their roots. Her songs combine Argentinian rhythms and song styles with her own cultural and spiritual ideals. In this video from the Fiesta Argentina 2011, Suni performs a live version of "Tierra Queida (Beloved Homeland)," a song that showcases her love for her Argentine homeland through the song style zamba. The zamba music style is characterized with slower tempo, minor key, and accompaniment of guitar and bombo (two headed drum). Her performance took place at the Ford Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on August 20th, 2011. The concert and film were produced by INCA/Del Mate Productions. 'Bandera Mía: Songs of Argentina' is available on CD and digital. Original arrangements and artful interpretations give new life to classic forms adopted by the pan-Latin American folk revival and pay inspired tribute to Argentina’s powerful musical heritage.
