- Santiniketan to Smithsonian: A Tribute to Tagore Kathleen M. O'Connel Professor, University of Toronto, Canada Kathleen M. O'Connell teaches courses on South Asian culture at New College, University of Toronto. She is especially interested in the portrayal of women in Tagore's fictional works, not simply from a socio-historical perspective but also as "a methodology to understand the development and transformation of the female psyche." She explored this theme in her paper "Emergence of the 'New' Woman in the Works of Rabindranath Tagore," published by the University of Toronto.
