- In contrast to Goyo's other prints of women, where the model poses in three-quarter view, the artist portrays the model Nakatani Tsuru in an unusually direct posture facing the viewer. Her gauzy kimono, printed in black tones over gray, subtly reveals the contours of her body. A silvery mica background heightens the effect of the simple composition, where the central figure is balanced only by the edge of a lacquered mirror stand and an informally draped cotton towel.
