- Summary
- The semicircular memorial consists of two white granite, curving benches flanking a low rectangular granite wall. In the center of the wall is a rectangular bronze relief plaque. A wreath is carved into the granite on either side of the plaque and above each wreath is a large shallow bowl. Two sets of three steps lead up to the seating area and between the steps is a rectangular planter. The ends of the benches are capped with bronze American Legion emblems. The relief plaque set in the center of the wall has a portrait of Colonel Galbraith inside a medallion which is flanked by two World War I soldiers. Next to the soldier on the proper right is a sailor and next to the soldier on the proper left is a nurse. A garland of laurel leaves passes through the hands of each figure. At either end of the plaque is an angel holding a symbol, one of war and one of peace.
