Summary
During his trip to Egypt, Elisofon visited Ahrāmāt Maydūm, site of a monumental structure believed to have been built by King Sneferu; originally was a smooth-sided, true geometric pyramid, although in its present ruined condition (lacking facing stones) it appears to be a three-stepped pyramid. [The J. P. Getty Fund: Thesaurus of Geographical Names]. This photograph was taken when Eliot Elisofon was on assignment for American Institute of Architects, directing the Egyptian portion of the documentary on Ancient Egypt, March 1965 and September 1965.
