- Description
- Oblong, curved vertical sides, featuring woven and applied strips of cardboard, painted and varnished to resemble a bricked prison cell entrance. Rectangular, recessed doorway has grid of fine threads, simulating cell bars, black cornice-like band over door, number 43 painted in yellow at left of doorway; lower third of wall area woven and painted green, bordered above and below with black bands, upper 2/3 of wall area woven and painted red. Slip-top cover (upper third of box) when closed meets black overdoor band, lid may also be removed entirely. Striker of sandpaper on box bottom.
