- Summary
- This G3-C spacesuit was made for and worn by Virgil "Gus" Grissom on the first of the manned Gemini missions Gemini 3, on March 23rd, 1965. The 3-orbit mission lasted five hours during which time the astronauts tested the maneuverability of the spacecraft.
- The suit consisted of five major assemblies, the main torso, helmet, boots, gloves and neck seal. Additionally, he wore a constant wear garment and life vest assembly. The suit permitted freedom of movement, and was equipped with communication and bio-medical transmission equipment.
- The suit and components were transferred to the National Air and Space Museum from the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston in 1968.
