- Description
- Pleated fan. Off-white parchment leaf with scenes drawn in black ink. Obverse: the image probably depicts King Phineas harassed by the harpies with the winged Argonauts aattempting to defend the king from the attack. The gorge is painted with rococo ornament. Reverse: a drawing of Rome indicating points of architectural interest; the reverse gorge is not painted. Incised ivory stick with black paint. Metal at rivet.
