Caption: This slide is part of a collection of 35mm slides encapsulating Robert Houston's full portfolio of images related to the Poor People's Campaign and the antipoverty protest camp on the National Mall. Known as "Resurrection City," the camp lasted for six weeks in the spring of 1968.
Description: This image depicts the Reverend Frederick Douglass Kirkpatrick holding a guitar. Wearing a dark blue denim shirt with brass buttons, he is viewed from below, giving him a monumental aspect. He holds the guitar against his torso and strums with his right hand. He gazes straight ahead, over the head of the photographer.The slide mount has text on the reverse that reads "processed by/ rogers color lab corp. / new york."
