Caption: This slide is part of a collection of 35mm slides encapsulating Robert Houston's full portfolio of images related to the Poor People's Campaign and the antipoverty protest camp on the National Mall. Known as "Resurrection City," the camp lasted for six weeks in the spring of 1968.
Description: This photographic slide depicts a man and woman holding the hands of a small child, walking through a muddy Resurrection City. The woman wears a knee-length red coat and white head scarf, the child wears a hooded brown coat and brown boots, and the man wears a clerical collar, a knee-length black jacket and black boots. The three walk through a muddy area with A frame shelters and portable lavatories in the background. The slide mount has text on the reverse that reads "processed by/ rogers color lab corp./ new york."
