Description
A black-and-white photograph of Mahalia Jackson standing with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and an unidentified man. Jackson is in the center, wearing a light-colored lace dress and a large corsage of flowers and ribbons pinned to her proper left shoulder. King is to the right, wearing a dark-colored suit and tie. The unidentified man is on the left, wearing a lighter-colored suit and tie. All three individuals look down at an accordion folder held by the unidentified man; Dr. King is pointing at something on the folder with his proper left hand. Behind them is a wall with a repeating graphic print depicting a short staff of musical notes and outlines of musical instruments including trumpets, saxophones, banjos, trombones, and clarinets. There are no inscriptions or marks, front or back.
