A MADE IN 1971, NOT FIELD CATALOGUED BUT ASSIGNED COLLECTOR'S NUMBER AND DESCRIBED. B WITHOUT ANY IDENTIFICATION.
- The plaques were on display in the National Museum of Natural History exhibit "Objects of Wonder", 2017 - 2025. Exhibit label identifies: Pair of tomb plaques (head and foot), Pakistani, Pakistan, 1971; Clay, siliceous slip, paint. Pakistani master potters made tiles like these for the tombs of Muslim saints to identify and celebrate them. The writing on these sample tiles from Khuda Baksh's workshop praise Saint Meeyan Ahmeed-deen in Arabic, Farsi, and Urdu.
