From NMNH Exhibit Hall "Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt" label for this artifact, 2011: Mummified cat, 332-30 B.C. The six blue strips of linen decorating this mummy stand out against more common brown and beige wrappings, and it has carefully shaped false ears. The kitten inside may be less than four weeks old.
