- Description
- Donor Henry Taylor used these keys on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad (L&N). Taylor served as a porter for the L&N from the 1940s through the 1960s. There are 12 keys of various sizes, including berth keys, locker keys, and car compartment keys. A porter or other railroad crew member needed many keys to unlock storage cabinets in supply rooms and in sleeping cars, to gain entrance to passenger compartments for housekeeping, and to secure equipment in their assigned car.
