- By the 1940s, high school courses in psychology were not unknown in American schools Thelburn Laroy Engle (1901-1994), a professor of psychology at Indiana University who wrote a textbook for high school use, also published this multiple choice test of the subject in 1952. These materials include a copy of Form AM of the test, a machine-readable answer sheet, a punched form for hand grading, a class record sheet, and an “expectancy chart” showing distributions of scores. The materials were published by World Book Company. A revised version of the test appeared in 1966.
