- This handheld electronic calculator has a brown plastic case with cream-colored ends. It has a bank of ten digit keys, a decimal point key, an SC key, a clear key, a clear indicator (clear entry) key, four function keys, two memory keys, and a total key. Oval buttons are labeled hour, minute, and second. Above the keyboard is an eight-digit vacuum fluorescent display. An AUTO switch and an on/off switch are left of the display. Text above the display reads: SEXAGESIMAL CALCULATOR (/) Canon 8-T.
- Text on the back of the case reads: Canon (/) PALMTRONIC 8-T (/) BM. Further text reads: CANON INC. Further text reads: JAPAN.
- A socket for an adapter is on the top edge. (This example has no adapter.) A compartment on the back would hold two AA batteries. A sticker on the back of the compartment cover reads: 499563.
- The calculator fits in a black plastic sleeve marked: Canon. Both the sleeve and the calculator fit in a black paper box. A sticker on the box reads: $14.99.
- An advertisement in the Los Angeles Times describes the Canon Palmtronic 8-T, with AC adapter, as selling for $34.99.
