- Description
- Sculpted by Frederic G. R. Roth (1940), this bronze statuette depicts American racehorse Man o' War (1917-1947.) The throughbread, bred in Kentucky, was one of the most successfull racehorses of all time, Between 1919 and1920, the horse won 20 of 21 starts, setting three world records in the process. Man o' War was so popular that his funeral was attended by thousands of mouners and broadcast to millions more on radio.
