- Summary
- This lithium hydroxide canister was part of the Gemini capsule's environmental control system. This system maintained a low pressure 100% oxygen atmosphere for the crew, controlled the temperature of the crew and equipment, provided drinking water, and disposed of waste water. The canister contained lithium hydroxide and activated charcoal, which removed carbon dioxide and odors from the closed spacesuit oxygen system. This canister did not fly in space. Airesearch manufactured this object and NASA transferred it to NASM in 1969.
