- A singerie, a work from the visual arts genre characterized by depictions of monkeys imitating human behavior, often fashionably attired. A male monkey is depicted in Rococo dress, consisting of red breeches, a green waistcoat, a yellow coat, and a grey wig. He appears in the center of the composition, in profile facing right against a peach-colored background. He straddles a portion of a blue-green-colored frame and raises his hands in prayer. Pink floral garlands and green leaves appear beneath him.
