- Description
- Engraving of a perpetual calendar in the form of a monument within a decorative border. The calendar is hand colored with shades of beige, gold, blue. "Calendrier Perpétual" is printed in the plinth, the base is a scene of Cronos (Father Time) rowing a boat with a scythe. Two columns rise from the base. The left column shows seven empty oblongs for the days of the week and is topped by a figure of Athene. "Jours/de la Semaine" is written in the base of the statue. The right column shows the dates of the equinoxes and solstices and is topped by a figure of Hope. "EPOQUES/des Saisons" is engraved on the base. The columns are connected by a tablet with squares containing figures. Upon the tablet stands an hour glass on a triple base with the words "QUANTIEME DU MOIS". A trophy on top contains a scheme for "COUCHER/du/SOLEIL".
