Blanket worn by WWI Mascot Stubby

- Description
- This chamois blanket was made for Stubby by the women of Chateau-Thierry after the recapture of that city in June 1918 by combined French and American troops. It is decorated with various badges, medals and insignia; in the center is an embroidered wreath of the flags of the Allies (Victory patch). There is an overcoat button with braided cord which fastens the blanket at the chest .

- Victory patch(embroidered wreath-flags of allies); American Legion (New Orleans); American Legion (Kansas City); Omaha American Legion; General Service Button 25-ligne (there are 3 of these); "Chatilon" badge; "Ste Genevieve" badge; Foreign Service, American Red Cross badge; "Jeneanne D'Arc" badge; Brest medal; WWI Victory medal; "NE PASSE PAS" medal (commemorating the Battle of Verdun); "Stubby, May 13, 1921" badge; service stripe, enlisted man, WWI; 26th Yankee Division patch (there are 2 of these); "Republique Francaise" medal; "St Mihiel" badge; miniature Purple Heart; "Chateau Thierry/Cote 204" badge; St. Paul Minnesota American Legion Convention badge; Minneapolis American Legion Annual Convention badge; "Stubby A.E.F. Mascot World War I" identification tag; WWI 3 year service or wound stripes; discharge chevron; "Stubby" braided cord; "New Haven" cross of service in WWI; "Stubby 102nd US" braid sewn to fabric; "Lindsay" Canadian maple leaf.
