Bitcoin Ring, United States, ca 2015
Object Details
- Description (Brief)
- One (1) bitcoin ring and box
- United States, ca 2015
- General Information: The BTC Ring is a piece of jewelry that represents value with bitcoin instead of precious metals or jewels. Scanning the QR code on the face of the BTC Ring reveals a bitcoin address which, via the blockchain, allows the rings exact value to be determined. The scan may also reveal that the bitcoin is earmarked for a special purpose such as an engagement to particular person or a gift to an institution. As opposed to traditional jewelry, its value is not tied to the physical ring itself, so if it is ever lost or destroyed the ring can simply be remade without losing bitcoin.
