- The series contains portraits, group photographs, motion picture footage, and photograph albums relating to exploration and travel in Africa, primarily Sudan, Belgian Congo, and East Africa. Photographs document a wide variety of individuals. Photograph albums relate to personal safaris as well as official travel of the Prince of Sweden. Images document the travel of notable figures like Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961), Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919), and Henry Morton Stanley (1841-1904), and David Livingstone (1813-1873). Includes photographs taken by A. Sydney Waller and naturalist and artist A. Radclyffe Dugmore (1870-1955).
