Millar, Harold Martel, 1865-1961. Manuscript of the Birds of Southern Africa
Object Details
- General note
- Manuscript handwritten in ink on heavy paper, accompanied by 4 original watercolors of birds, each signed "Harold M. Millar" in lower right corner and dated 1926. In green cloth box. Several of the paintings appear to be life-size. The paintings are on paper of the same size as the manuscript. Tissue sheets over the paintings are numbered 226, 337, 387, and 396, suggesting that Millar did many more paintings for his book. M111 is accession number in the Russell E. Train inventory list of the Joseph F. Cullman 3rd Library of Natural History.
