- Confirms a note Grant had written to Murchison hoping he would take his 'humble assurance that any thing poor Speke ever wrote or said may be relied upon most thoroughly', adding that he has not seen the paper where Burton has collected authorities opposed to Speke, but thinks that the allusion to Speke in Murchison's address should not be interfered with.
